True Colors
by Melissa Pearl
The idea behind this story is incredibly intriguing. I am an empath, so reading a story about a power that is in tune with that was a very cool. I enjoyed Caity’s character development as well as the slew of other colorful supporting characters that made up the plot. The book was interesting enough for me to want to continue the series.
HOWEVER. (spoilers ahead) I felt that so much of this story was way too predictable. I was waiting for some secret bad guy to come out. I was waiting to see if the “cheating business” was really a cover for a drug operation. I don’t understand how a cheating business can be enough justification for guns to get pulled and death threats to be made?? It was just too far fetched for me.
I am hoping Book 2 fares a bit better then Book 1.
