In this book, the plot continues with Ondry and Liam entering human space with the hope on gaining enough status that Ondry will be allowed to trade for Liam to to have his life extended.

Again, like the second, I feel like this lacked some of the emotional intensity of the first. I'm not entirely sold on a lot of the worldbuilding elements and, while I could ignore them in the first book as the entire point is the burning intensity between Liam and Ondry, in the later books I feel they're more obtrusive. Like, what carried the first book was Liam's slow aceptance of the kind of love Ondry was able to offer him. Now they've achieved that, Ondry and Liam are almost on a more equal footing and some of the intensity of that early relationship has been lost. Maybe it's sweeter and more healthy but it doesn't feel like the thing I signed up for.
