This book is genuinely very good, its well written its super interesting and very tense. There were several moments where i caught myself clenching my jaw terrified of where it was going next.
However there was one big turn off and that was just how much the author writes about the main characters lactation. Its so often in fact i had to double check a man hadnt written it because it felt almost bizarre how many times it was brought up. Like she would find a way to mention her nipples were wet in any situation. Im honestly not sure though maybe this is something the author personally experienced and it was really just this much of an impact on her life i dont even know if shes a mother. For context as well im not squeamish about lactation, dont really have any feelings on it at all tbh, but there were several moments where it actually took me away from the plot because it was so jarring to suddenly be hearing about how she could feel milk in her breasts or her milk was soaking through her t shirt. Despite this though the writing and plot was enough to keep me hooked and to be entirely honest im glad i did. I just wish she had toned it down a notch with the random interspersed lactation bits. 😅
