Me Before You
by Jojo Moyes
This book is by far one of the better books I have read this year! To say it was also one of the longer ones, with nearly 500 pages, I was gripped from the very beginning and was never bored reading it.
When reading the prologue, I was down heartened when I saw it was written in third person and the present tense but as soon as the book began at chapter one I was soon made happy when it changed to first person in the past tense.
I am a person who when reading books can love a story so much and find it emotional but won't really laugh out loud or cry. I have only ever cried at one book before in my life and this book was the second. The story and the characters and the whole concept was just so poignant and really resonated with me as I'm sure it did with a lot of other readers as well. Jojo Moyes has really outdone herself with me before you as it is such a strongly written novel that engages its readers and isn't hard to follow or understand at all!
