i binged the series so i had to take a moment to gather my thoughts on it. for some reason i was convinced she would end up with the teacher and while i was surprised that she did not i am actually really happy about it. i know there's plenty of red flags regarding shishiso but at first i didn't really like mamura since he was straight up misogynistic. however, he really had some good character growth and i love how yosano talked about him, e.g. his light touch compared to how firmly shishiso held her hand. he was always willing to wait for her but also willing to give her up if it means she would be happier. also THANK YOU mamura for calling shishiso out on his bullshit.

The way the author described the anxiety of being with someone you like in theory but not really was so spot on. I was worried the message would be being comfortable with someone only means friendship whereas being nervous means you're in love when that's simply wrong. The more you overthink everything the clearer it should become that you and the person aren't meant to be and i'm so glad yosano realised that.
