Fantasy and romance came together in this book in the most immersive way.
One of the many challenges of combining these two genres is that they both demand attention and detail and this book delivered.
I was invested in the characters, the plot and the incredible world that this book created.
There is two pov's within this story that follow Mira and Sidelle.

Mira was an assassin who was on her last coins and trying to make a big sweeping haul when the person who was her target in turn causes her to be the target of the King's interest. Brought to the castle for interrogation Mira is faced with no choice in how her future will now play out.

Sidelle is a high Druid and is called to the castle by the same king that has brought Mira in for questioning. When Sidelle and Mira encounter one another there is little to do to alter fate which has brought them together.

This book was medium paced with a good balance between the romance and the fantasy.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting these characters and cannot wait to see where their journey takes them in book 2.
