The Woods Are Always Watching
by Stephanie Perkins
I mean...just no thanks. This was only seven hours as an audiobook but it was a very long seven hours. There were way too many bizarre thesaurus-inspired word choices, and the long rambling descriptions were largely just filler. And that's before all the plot issues. I waited through 3.5 hours to get to the plot point that I'd expected since about the first forty-five minutes. The killers are painfully hackneyed and there's no twists here to redeem that.
I was surprised to have something like this show up after There's Someone Inside Your House, but I also know that I was a little generous to that one, haha. Oh well.
