Idc if my friends think I'm a wimp...
This book is great and I loved it and I will die on this hill.
In all seriousness...this was the first book I read that had me fighting tears as a teenager. I finished it the same day I got it from my school library (having this in a school library in a country where media censorship exists is insane btw). This book did for me what Michael Jackson did for pop. I felt like a different person all together when I ended it and it's true...a lot has changed since the day I finished this book.
Now, I'm not saying that this book was the driving force behind me developing a half working brain or anything, but in terms of having a genuine passion for reading...this acted as fuel to an already lit fire. Still...it's been a long time since I read it...but I remember everything as if it's etched right into the fibre of my being. Everytime I think about it I feel alive...and since I personally find it hard to be emotionally vulnerable...knowing that I allowed myself to truly immerse myself and let this book bring me to tears kind of changed my perception of how I'd like to feel and use my emotions.
I already wrote a review of this on an account that no longer exists so there isn't a specific review here...but if you can just look past any personal bias against this book..it's a great read and although it's incredibly popular I'd still tell my friends to have a read rather then go and look for some niche book that they probably never heard of
