This book was ok. Not great. It was sold as a Pride & Prejudice cross Rogue One story. And frankly, it’s not.

I did keep reading it because the writing was ok, and the characters actually had depth. The author doesn’t shy away from depicting heavy topics.

However, the world building didn’t really make it seem like it was set on another planet - for instance they had horses. Like, could you not spend a bit more time to come up with some alien creature that had been domesticated for riding?

Also, I saw a major plot twist coming since the first half of the book, mostly.

The main characters seemed to spend a lot of time knocked out. There’s got to be some brain damage going around.

The final 20% though was a bit more engaging to read

Anyway, it was ok, but not great. I’m not going to read the sequel
