Making Comics: Storytelling Secrets of Comics, Manga and Graphic Novels by Scott McCloud

5.0

Scott McCloud is the champion of thoughtful analysis of the comic medium. Using words and drawings together to say things about the art form that could never have been expressed in mere words, he provides food for thought, and a cornucopia of tools to analyse and produce comics. While this is the book about making your own comics, it’s no less valuable to the person who just wants to understand comics. His essay on different approaches to comics is though provoking and fascinating, and the whole book gives a great view into the process between making comics. I can unreservedly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in knowing more about the art form of comics.
