What this book taught me is that I really do not care about Snow. Not a bit. Not even for a minute. So you might understand why it might have been difficult to push through it, considering he was the protagonist and all lol No but for real, the whole time I was going "omg can someone just kill him already", just to realise every time that he would not, in fact, die in this book.
Aside from my dislike of the main character I also do think that this book dragged a lot, there were so many parts that were unnecessary and that did not contribute any important information to the main plot which could have been easily cut out. I listened to the book and audiobook and I found myself spacing out more than once during the endless internal monologues of Coriolanus.
The first part of the book was quite interesting plot-wise, especially because we got to see the Capitol City from inside, how life was there after the war, how society was divided inside it etc.. But when the plot moved to the romance part, and the songs, the MANY songs, I came this close to dropping it because I was getting bored with it.
I'm also quite sad that in the end we didn't get to see the fall-out between Tigris and Snow. They were very tight, Tigris sacrificed so much for Coriolanus, so for them to fall out and for Tigris to literally turn her back on him and help the rebels kill him, he must have done something quite atrocious.
Now, if I have to talk about the other characters, i guess I could say that I wish they would have been explored a little bit more, at least Lucy Gray. She was the second main character and we know close to nothing about her, we know bits and pieces, but it was not enough for me to be interested in her. I know this might be because we are seeing her from Snow's eyes, who basically see her as someone to own and not much more, but we definitely got a better character exploration with Sejanus than with her.
