This is a sequel to The Sylvan and the Sand, but it’s totally fine to read as a standalone. However, you’ll have a better understanding about Erran’s past if you do.
I really like reading about Erran and Mariel’s love story which evolves from enemies-to-lovers. I absolutely loved the part where they’re stranded on an island and have to work together, allowing them to bond and discover things about each other they didn’t know before.
I was hooked right from the beginning. The book is a roller coaster of emotions.
The last few chapters include a twist between the Rutland and the Ashdown that really surprised me.
Overall, this is a well-written heart-warming story and I felt satisfied with the ending especially, the epilogue, which offers us a glimpse of what happened to those characters five years later.
I’m looking forward to read more books by this author in the future!
I received an advanced review copy for free from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
