Beginner's Luck by Kate Clayborn

3.0

I didn't like this one as much as other works by Kate.

It took me about 1/3 of the book to click in with the characters and even then, it wasn't as deep as I expected. Kit and Ben both have some serious issues stemming from their childhoods. We hear about them a lot but we don't get to see the work they put in to overcome them. It all seems rather...lucky.

Don't get me wrong, this was a good read. It just didn't live up to what I expected. It's a steamy romance with a FMC in STEM. It's about defining 'home', making a space for yourself. It tackles some great topics but for me, it was lacking that little something extra.
