To Your Eternity, Volume 1 by Yoshitoki Oima

Wow, this was a bizarre start to a series.

A teen at the library strongly suggested this series to me, but warned me it can be a little sad... the beginning... whew!

I think, without spoiling things, the start is either going to fully pull you in, or completely turn you off from the series. For me, its more a turn off.

Our protagonist, at least currently, doesn't have much of a personality (for obvious reasons in the series), and there isn't much in the way of supporting cast yet. While the concept and setting is compelling, it isn't enough to get me to continue forward.

There are good qualities here, and I see why it has a avid fan base, but just not for me.
