The Golden Couple
by Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen
The Golden Couple; Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
Genre: Domestic Suspense/Psychological Thriller
Rating: 3.5 stars
The Golden Couple is the latest from bestselling duo, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I was excited to read this after being a fan of their earlier novel, The Wife Between Us.
The plot follows alternates between Avery, a therapist who has recently lost her license due to misconduct and Marissa, a wife seeking couples therapy due to infidelity. Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen weave a complex story about secrets and marriage and asks the question about how much we really know about those closest to us. Avery is steadfast in her mission to help others using her unconventional therapy techniques and is determined to help this couple mend their relationship. Marissa is relatable and believable as a wife and mother and you feel invested in what happens to her. The authors throw in enough red herrings and twists that it will leave you wondering how on earth is everything going to tie together. The ending was satisfying and I’ll confess I didn’t see coming.
This book is just as a good if not better than the Wife Between Us and I’d most definitely read other books by these authors.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an early copy of this novel.
