Milk and Honey is So. Fucking. Good.
It's painful- maybe the most vulnerable book I've ever read. But I think that vulnerability and honesty is what causes it to connect with the millions of women who have read this. There are so many things we don't talk about, and when someone does, it makes the human experience so much more manageable. The style is fantastic, and while one could call it simple, I think it's vastly complex. Sure, there aren't a lot of words, but each word has meaning and purpose. There is no fluff or flowery language, like I see in a lot of "tumbler poetry." Milk and Honey is harsh, vulnerable, and accessible. It's not overhyped at all, and I think everyone should have a copy of it, because believe me, you'll want to come back to it.
