I have so much love for Jane!
I enjoyed this the first time I read it, but loved it the second time, and I think understood and appreciated it a lot more on reread. I just loved Jane's journey in finding belonging, and I adore her as a character.
The gothic themes and atmosphere throughout was just beautiful, and I really loved the kinda fairytale imagery throughout, especially in the way Rochester describes Jane (as a witch, fairy, elf, sylph, mermaid etc, and himself as a ogre, ghoul etc).
It took a reread for me to realise how much I dislike St John aha. He's self righteous, judgement, mansplains non-stop and is incredibly pushy Jane refuses him 15 times, I counted, and still he never really accepts her answer until she literally runs away across the country
