Frenemies by Nicole Blanchard

4.0

Frenemies lives up to its name with this newest second installment from another new to me author. Dash and Layla have a history of being mortal enemies’ way back from high school. Dash was already attracted to her but after failing to impress her by beating her on a quiz bee; it was war from then on. It doesn’t help that they couldn’t stop their selves from constant bickering. I guess it became their game; a cover, a mask than to face what was really the heart of the matter: they are attracted to each other and maybe in danger of falling in love.

Who doesn’t love enemies to lovers’ story? I’m a huge sucker for it and from this title alone; I just had to read it. I wasn’t disappointed. This was a sure fire hit to me. Those heated back and forth, intense push and pull; all lead to a very hot and steamy moment that I had to fan myself numerous times. Whew!

But that’s not all; the story has a taboo romance factor in it (student-teacher). Now we have, enemies-to-lovers, student-teacher romance? What’s not to love? Who could possibly resist this? Definitely not this girl. I’ve loved and enjoyed every single moment of this story; their own family problems while they try to work out their budding relationship are something you will be able to relate to in real life. After reading this book, I’m excited to read the next in this series, Tripp and Ember’s story because that title surely is interesting.
