The Wickerlight by Mary Watson
5.0

You know when you think a book is really good, but you don't really know why?
Well this is one of those books for me.

I think it might be the combination of characters that are not overly cliche and the slowly (even though I finished in three days) building climax via a murder mystery.

The change between perspective, from the new MC, Zara, who's sister recently died, and David, the mean asshole from the previous book is great. You get a real indsight in Davids life and why he did and does certain things. Zara is calm and collected bacause thats just how she is raised, but she has a very deep inner turmoil, and her sisters death causes that calm to unravel.

I love the way Mary Watson writes, there is this kinda calm, mellow atmosphere, but it never makes the story feel boring, I find very enjoyable, considering i've read a lot of books where everything has to come to a BIG EPIC FINALE. That just gets tiring after a while, so when something like this come along it's refreshing.

Recomendation:
The Silver Road by Stina Jackson (crime/thriller)
Same kind of mellow writing with a slow building mystery and also seen from two diffrent characters perspective, thoug there is a significant age gap.

Stay Horrible (read the book if you don't get it)
