Bride by Ali Hazelwood

5.0

This is the best thing that Ali has written so far! I would seriously pay money in order to read this for the first time again.
The world was interesting, I liked that there was talk of politics between the 3 species. It felt very intriguing and definitely made me want to learn more, specifically about the vampires. I wish maybe we got to spend a little more time out and about in the city just so that I could picture it a little better.
The romance was top tier. So much angst, and buildup. I was just on the edge of my seat eating it all up. I loved their dynamic with each other. So much chemistry! The scenes were so well written! This book was definitely the spiciest of Ali Hazelwoods books. It also made for some great moments of education for my friend I buddy read with who hadn’t ever read a monster romance. I had to explain what Knotting was to her!
I found the plot to be super interesting.  How everything wrapped up was really nice. There were a lot of twists that I didn’t see coming at all. I wish that there would have been a tiny bit more focus on the investigation parts throughout the whole book.
I also just want to mention that I really enjoyed the character of Anna. It was nice to see her pull misery out of her shell a little bit. I felt like all of the side characters within the story were pretty well written.
I would definitely love to read more books in this same world. I think Ali definitely left it open to focus on another character for book 2. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun vampire/werewolf romance
