I really think this book needed another draft or three. It was unbearably boring and could have lost at least a hundred pages and nothing would have been lost.
Maybe I don't read enough mystery, but the one in this book was poorly crafted.
Usually it's not a problem when no characters are likeable, but the expectation of me to care at any of the "emotional" moments was lost with how much I could not stand the main character.
Sure this book has a fat main character, but if your way of expressing it is to 1) have the opening scene of them be them stuffing their face and 2) have them CONSTANTLY eating, your representation is bad.
