The Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne
5.0
Wow.
Just wow.
The 3rd and final book in the Bloodsworn Trilogy, finds the main characters gathering, at last, to face off against the dragon and rat gods.
The final battle of this book was more than 100 pages of blood, gore, and action. It was a very satisfying ending to an epic story.
The characters.
Orka is an easy character to love and empathize with and it's no mystery why she resonates with so many people. She's a woman in her 40s, and she's had it with most people, but they insisted on pulling her back into the world by taking her son.
Varg, is a bit more mysterious and took longer to grow on me, but he absolutely did. His biggest love was his family, and when that was taken from him, he needed closure and revenge.
Elvar is young, ambitious, and brilliant. She also took me the longest to like as a character. If I'm honest, I didn't like her much at all going into this book. Her 3rd act choice, though, was her biggest and best move, and she showed the most growth of every character in the series.
I loved this book and adored this series. I really hope the author decides to wander back into this world someday.
