My first 4 star Emily Henry? 🫢 Scandalous.
This definitely beats out Beach Read for fave Emily Henry & also disproves my theory that your first of hers is always your favorite. I was wrong! I’ll admit!
The TikTok girlies did NOT like this one which made me nervous at first but I should’ve known bc I never agree w the TikTok girlies (I did NOT like happy place). But anyway, I really enjoyed this book; everything about it just made sense? Idk how to describe it but i get annoyed easily w the way many romances in books play out bc it’s so unrealistic. This book was very realistic to me to the point where I didn’t even mind the third act conflict that I usually hate bc it made sense! I love that for me! Their romance progressed in a way that made sense & I like how they found each other attractive from the beginning. Like yes let’s take a break from the hostility that usually starts off romance novel relationships.
Also, I really like the effort of Daphne to become friends with people post breakup. I just love reading about friendships blossoming & friendship in general. Also also, I feel like her name should’ve been different. Every time someone said her name I was like WHO??
Anywayssss,, good book. Great job Emily Henry,, maybe I finally get it.
