This was such a great short story. I loved Piper and Vordigar so much. Like with the first book in the series, this is a marriage of convenience between human refugee Piper and escaped convict Vordigar. And, while like most of Ruby Dixon's stories this is fun and sexy, it also had some really great conversations about consent and bodily autonomy that I think we're really important.
Three Thoughts:
1. I absolutely love Piper. She is so strong and so determined to make the best of her situation despite all that she's been through. I was surprised by how emotional I felt reading this....my heart just hurt for her.
2. We always appreciate an alien hero who is a fan of enthusiastic consent.
3. I love that we got an epilogue set a bit into the future.
This was a wonderful addition to this series. And, I love seeing these women persevere and get the love and happily ever afters they deserve.
