This book had me from page one. I have read this author before, so I had an idea of the writing style. It's not for everyone. At first it's hard to develop a feel for the characters, at least for me, because they always seem so out of reach. Once you do, you are enveloped in them.
As with the other books I have read by the author, Pearl (or Button, as she would soon become) is a very strong FMC. She has a fight in her that never gives up. She goes through hell when sold by her boyfriend to pay off his gambling debt.
Bones is your typical devil MMC, wth no redeeming qualities. However, Pearl uses her witt to start breaking down his defences, until he becomes obsessed with her. Crow and Cane want revenge for what Bones did to their sister and take her. The fight in her immediately has Crow wanting her, and then becoming obsessed as well.
Crow wants her to submit, and thus the button exchange for pleasure starts. I can't wait for the next in this series to see how this all plays out.
