It’s a cute best friend-to-lover book where 2 best friends of 12 years, Poppy and Alex, take summer 10 summer trips. They fell out after their last summer trip 2 years ago, but they took one last summer trip together to fix their friendship.
The book is formatted so you read one chapter of the current trip, then in the next chapter, you read about one of the trips they took years ago. This format explains how their friendship progressed over the years and what happened in Croatia, their last trip.
I did have a problem with pacing, to be honest. It starts off really slow, I didn’t find the book interesting until halfway when things get more complicated. The middle is really messy with a year's worth of information that’s told in 1 chapter, then there’s an unnecessarily long sex scene I’m still confused on how it happened. The ending is not as satisfying as it should be, mostly because it could’ve been a little longer.
In general, it’s a cute (?) summer romance book with these cool time skips between summer trips they took. But I honestly wouldn't recommend it.
