Don't Suck, Don't Die: Giving Up Vic Chesnutt by Kristin Hersh

3.0

Like being thrust into the midst of an ongoing intimate conversation where you need to extrapolate meanings from code words, inside jokes and shared fears. I can't say I love the style in which this book was written, but I've always loved Vic Chestnutt's music. By the time I was three quarters of the way through this short remembrance of a deep friendship between musicians, I was hooked as a fly on the wall. Chestnutt rarely sucked. He did die. He left some amazing work behind.
