Not only was this book beautifully written, heartwarming and moving, it was so gripping and I was never bored whilst reading it. There were plot twists, including one rather large twist towards the end, and the story is so interesting. I felt as though I was on a journey with the main characters and I connected with them from the very beginning.
I loved how some of the story was told from the point of view of Gloria as well as Hattie as I found that allowed me to see things from her point of view also. I was slightly heartbroken at the end when Reuben and Hattie parted ways as they were best friends, however I now see that this was probably for the best, and Hattie is happy now with her son either way!
