I loved this book. I thought it was magical and mysterious and the illustrations are gorgeous. What is up with the crowns? I don't know why that bothers people. Who cares? Can't we have a little mystery? I don't mind telling kids I don't know everything about what we're looking at and it doesn't matter as long as we are enjoying the book. Grown ups don't always have all the answers. This is one of those books where I like to ask the children what they think is happening because they say some really intriguing and insightful things. I think it's more a book for a child's mind than an adult's. And adult's with child-like minds. Reminds me a bit of The Velveteen Rabbit.
