The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

3.0

This was my first experience with the seminal Sci-fi series although I did have some exposure to Douglas Adams through the Dirk Gently television adaptation. Overall the story was fun and all of the characters are very interesting. Marvin the Paranoid Android stood out as one of my favorites. The prose can be a bit choppy at times as Adams goes into goofy tangents for bits at times. A lot of these are funny but after a while I find myself losing immersion with the world so I can hear how funny the narrator (Adams) is. I’m definitely inspired enough to keep reading and I definitely get the hype.
