disappointing. started strong but crashed and burned in the second arc. the consistent platitudes became inane and hammered in the adage of "show, don't tell" to the point that Saeed and Nadia's relationship felt superficial by the end. mind you--the route their relationship took made sense in this context, but i didn't care, because the author didn't allow me to connect with them through all his narrating. all of the extraneous stories were poignant, but they would have worked so much better in a separate short story collection
