My physical copy of Freckle Juice came home today. I wasn't planning on reading it today but contemplated when I saw how thin it was and had to figure out why, and now I know the answer:
Freckle Juice is such a lovable and timeless children's book that tackles insecurities and acceptances without harming races. I love how Judy Blume carefully crafted each scene and came into a neat conclusion. It reminded me so much of Anne of Green Gables in that particular scene where Anne wanted to have a raven black hair... we all know how it ended. Tragically, yes. This is a highly enjoyable book for children and adults.
