The Driver's Seat
by Muriel Spark
READ FOR CLASS
How do I go about this...uhhh...it was okay. I may have expected more. I expected to be repulsed, shocked or something of that nature. I pretty much didn't feel anything but confusion. The writing style was okay but not the best I've seen. Many shorter books depend on strong emotional value and strong writing, I think this one tried to do that but didn't really succeed for me. Not to say it was bad, it wasn't. I just expected a bit more. Or it just wasn't my cup of tea, i don't know. I think that what I mind the most is that this type of book presents itself as "whydunit" and yet I still don't know, well, whydunit. It's like reading a whodunit and don't get to know the killer. It simply seems incomplete - that type of incomplete which annoys you more than it makes you think.
