Very interesting themes of corruption, beauty and obsession but also the most insufferable characters that just aggravated me so much I was tempted to stop reading the book. Also the blatant anti-semitism (which might have been typical for the time, doesn't mean I have to like it), as well as the continous misogyny and bad mouthing women. It was aggravating to get through despite the interesting themes.
Moderate: Death, Misogyny, Murder, and Sexism
Minor: Antisemitism, Blood, Toxic friendship, and Suicide
