This was everything!!!!
This is my first and maybe only five star book of the year.(I’m pretty picky and judgy with books) I loved the plot and how it didn’t feel like I’ve seen it before. I loved the characters because Adeline was not meak and she seemed very relatable. Sometimes with books like these, they say that the heroine is so relatable and everyone likes her and I always think they’re annoying, but Adeline I really liked. I thought Elias was really cute and a good character.
I also appreciated how there was no “other woman drama” in terms of some other woman actually trying to stir stuff up.
The only thing I disliked about this book were Adeline’s ‘friends’. I felt like she had no one in her life that was truly supportive of her and her choices. If I was her friend, and I found out that she was in love with the king and he had a thing for her I would be telling her to go after him because you have one chance at a fairytale life. All of her friends just seemed to not want her to be happy and that was very annoying for me like why would you tell your best friend to to talk to their ex.
