I read this book in one day, after a friend had recommended it to me. It isn’t my usual genre but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
If you are looking for a feel-good escape from reality, this is not the book for you. You don’t you emotionally connect with any of the characters (who are all equally bad people), however, it is a very well written and thought-out book.
Excuse the cliche, but this book holds a mirror up to society’s cancel-culture and social media obsession. Well done Kuang for this deep-delve into the nitty gritty of human emotion and what really drives people.
