Another fantastic, engrossing tale about FitzChivalry Farseer and his vast circle of friends and enemies! I love Hobb’s Buckkeep books, as slow and meandering as they are brilliant and revelatory. I often gasped aloud while reading this book, seeing at last some carefully woven and long hidden convergences between the last two series and this one. I was fascinated by the new insights into the enigmatic Fool, and I feel so deeply for all of the characters, whether they are familiar or new to me. Like “Fool’s Errand” before it, “Golden Fool” is light on plot but heavy on building relationships and political intrigue, as a long-brewing storm gathers over the Six Duchies and everyone Fitz holds dear. I’m sure the final book in the Tawny Man trilogy will be devastating and incredible, and the setup in this one makes me so excited to follow these beloved characters along on their quest!
