I wasn't sure I would like the protagonist when I started this book, but she eventually grew on me. It reminded me of family vacations, especially the ones that happened again and again, especially the beach ones. It was interesting in the way that it was laced with the feeling of being an adult while also being a child at the same time (and also having your own children), something that I think is common but not often a specific theme.
