Arrows of the Queen by Mercedes Lackey

3.0

So, this year, I decided to dive into more fantasy written by women and stumbled upon Mercedes Lackey. Picked up "Arrows of the Queen" without knowing a thing about it, just following a reading order I found. And guess what? Magic talking horses were a thing.

I almost DNF'd right then, but I stuck with it, and I'm so glad I did. Turns out, it's a pretty good read. A tad whimsical, a lot interesting, and refreshingly different. I'm just happy I gave it a shot. It's always so great to come across a book like that. No information, no one is talking about and it's good.
