This could have been 30% shorter at this point I’m irritated and the story isn’t good enough for me to want to continue. It is very clear that they want to set up the other characters for a series, but there are better ways to set up a world people want to revisit without spending unnecessary time with tertiary characters. I reallllllllyyyyy tried to finish it bc yay South Asian authors but damn.
