Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant

3.5

Despite Grant's beautiful writing this novel didn't resonate with me as I thought it would. Personally, I thought it started out really well, but Grant's longwinded, filled to the brim with filler writing style got very taxing about 40% through. I liked the POV we got when the story began, but it kept shifting to other flat, unlikeable characters and thus it was hard to really get to know any of our cast because every chapter it would change.

This definitely could've been cut in half by 100-200 pages and I think it would've been a bit better and not so bloated.
