The Lies That Bind by Kate Carlisle

4.0

This was an enjoyable read, like the first two. I liked that it was back in SF on Brooklyn's home turf. It was fun reading about a book-binding class - now I'm dying to take one!

I thought it was pretty obvious that Alice wasn't who she said she was and I wasn't very surprised when it turned out that she was the killer. Gabriel's presence in this one actually added to the plot, so I guess we will see where his story goes. It seems like he's mostly there to add a secondary love interest for Brooklyn. I did like that she and Derek kept getting interrupted - it reminded me of Stephanie Plum.

Over all though, I'm still enjoying these! Looking forward to reading the next one soon.
