Mud Vein
by Tarryn Fisher
I was really unsure about this book most of the way through. It's hard to watch someone act with such disdain towards themselves and others. There were a few scenes I had to put it down and walk away because it was like a punch in the gut. I was confused by Senna, heartbroken for her, hated her. But somehow at the end of the book there was such light, such hope. I think in a way we all have a bit of a Mud Vein in us. Broken by life or others, afraid to hope, unwilling to believe, sometimes all it takes is the bright light of another to chase away all the darkness and show us who we really are.
