Wow, this was a lot.
This was soooo emotional, like.. damn. I struggled a lot, the romance is a subplot here and I didn’t realized till I was like halfway through it.
I wanted to read this book when it was available for ARC but I didn’t got it and then I forgot all about it until now 😅
Things I enjoyed:
The main character finding her calling in life, it was actually satisfying to watch her evolve and I was glad to see that she find her dream job at the end.
The male main character also finding his way into his dream job, which by the way was a long way coming.
The self-discovery they both had, it was so cute.
I wanted to love it, I couldn’t tho. It was too much pain for me, I guess that’s good for the book because the main point of it it’s to feel the loss and grief through James & Erin’s eyes. They both had to go through a lot of pain, a lot of sadness, stress, struggles, even anxiety. I had the same problem I had reading Happy Place, I couldn’t separate the feelings and it was all too much for my heart.
And tee had a bit of bullying and mental illness through the story too, it became a lot for my liking.
I think it’s a good book, it just wasn’t for me.
And finally, one of the main things I didn’t liked was that we kept having these little flashbacks in between conversations and I didn’t understand it sometimes 😅
So, consider yourself warned, and go ahead 🙂↕️
