I honestly don't know what to write. As someone who knows history - although modern is not exactly my favorite - and has been to Auschwitz it is quite difficult. I mean it's based on a true story, so it just makes it harder, but I'll try my best.
Lale was a very likable and lovable character who - both in the book and in real life - saved a lot of people from death because he was a tattooist in hell itself. Gita has also grown close to my heart, she really suffered a lot and she deserved peace terribly.
The plot itself was easy to handle, albeit shocking and stomach-churning in several places - still reality. The pace was a bit slow, but that was what it took to understand more of it. In sum, it conveyed well the situation and what they had to survive.
