I'm Just a Person by Tig Notaro

4.0

I listened to the audiobook, and my advice is: buckle up. This is a RIDE. I was superficially familiar with Tig Notaro's story of an illness that catapulted her to national headlines, but I never listened to the show that was recorded. Hearing about the true scope of what happened was intense: a life-threatening illness, the death of her mother, and then a breast cancer diagnosis. Who can handle all that? Within four months! And who could manage to tell such a such a story with humor (well, Tig can). This awoke a bit of anxiety in me, but it was a gripping read, emotionally raw and relatable, and all in all excellent.
