while i had a fun time reading this book and will probably continue the series, i had a lot of issues with plot holes and pacing. aside from the obvious gory parts that were difficult to get through, i found that the lack of proper world building and character exploration made this book feel a little shallow. we never really end up learning the in depth backstory of either main character. there’s also no solid explanation for why sloane and rowan are able to continually get away with their murders. the plot relies on the principle of “just trust me, it all works out.” that being said, i still found this book to be entertaining and i hope the next books in the series are better executed
