Hat Tricked: a fake dating hockey romance novella
by A.K. Isaacs, A.K. Isaacs
This is a cute hockey novella about a widower. Big feelings are tackled in a relatively short time frame. There are a couple of plot points where I felt like there could have been a deeper dive but maybe there wasn’t time in the short story.
Both MCs are really sweet and totally smitten over each other. Thomas is a big cinnamon roll teddy bear with has some contradictory traits (he appears as a player but really is an introvert). Hazel is getting back into the world after a huge loss and is deservedly confused about what she’s feeling vs. judgement from others. But I think the shining star was the Ralph. He’s developed over the other books and it’s great see him flourish here!
There is one spicy scene and some tensioned smooches!
