The Legend Begins indeed... I feel like the story still has a bit to go before it gets genuinely great. Having watched nearly the entire anime, it's painfully apparent that Miss Wednesday is an entirely different character in this volume than the one she becomes later (it's a well-known fact that Oda hadn't planned for her to go in the direction she did at the start). Smoker is probably my favorite marine character, so I love to see him on the pages.
