since butcher and blackbird, i liked lark right away and was so excited for her book then mix lachlan?? even better, the grumpy brother who loves to do leather and lark my sunshine girl who can kill you in so many ways and can totally hurt you so what a duo! at first lachlan is such an asshole to her, obviously lark dislikes him right away and then to save sloane and kinda rowan too, she has to fake a marriage with lachlan in order for her family to stop thinking lachlan is the one who is killing their associates and all! from that the book is right away intriguing and lark is a serial killer?? please queen, tho lachlan kills people too it's different, he does jobs for a boss and lark works alone and kills men who do sex*al assault because she also yeah suffered that and she's trying to clean the world and i mean go you i respect her and the way she just cares deeply for her family and specially for sloane who helped her a lot is so cute and wholesome! then lachlan definitely has an older brother protectiveness through his brothers, does everything he can to take care of them and to make sure they're save, i mean they're line of work yeah i get his side but then he can be such a grumpy man ugh but when they have this fake marriage the time they spend together, they get to know each other and have to pretend to be in love and all of that you start caring for a person and they do and even kill together so good! their banter is good, they're so fun and cute then so murderous and hot, i had the best time and i really liked their plot! also them trying to figured it out who is really behind those killings so much better than the first one!!
rose and fionn tho the little scenes we have with them IM SO READY!! but yeah lark is my fave right now and lachlan and lark are my fave couple from this series but i can feel fionn and rose will top them and be my fave couple and even characters ugh i need it now!! but this one overall is better than the first for sure, and I just love a marriages of convenience just perfection!!
